How does the easyvest pension planning tool work?

This tool is designed to help you plan financially for retirement. Retirement is the period when you will no longer be working and will still need to have access to financial resources to maintain your lifestyle.

The tool will help you to:

1. Estimate the maximum monthly amount (i.e. annuity) you can have at retirement.
2. Find out how long your pension capital could last.
3. Understand the impact that a change in your savings habits could have on your finances, especially during retirement.
4. Estimate the amount you could bequeath upon your passing.

The tool allows you to aggregate all your expected sources of pension income in one place. For example, your statutory and supplementary pensions, as well as your real estate incomes, possible inheritances and other investments, including of course your easyvest accounts.

All projections are expressed in real terms, i.e. they are adjusted for inflation, to reflect the reality that over time the value of money and purchasing power decrease. All the amounts you see are therefore in today's euros.

The solid black line is your current position, i.e. what you would have. This line tells you how long your pension could last taking into account :

1. The age at which you wish to retire.
2. The value of your current savings.
3. Your annual contribution level.
4. A 4% annual return on your capital.
5. An annual inflation rate of 2%.

The dotted black line represents your need to achieve your goal, based on :

1. The annuity you wish to generate during your pension.
2. A life expectancy of 85 years.

Most of these parameters can be modified so you can observe their impact.
