Even if the world of the agency is a rather "cruel" world, with a lot of pressure, after 15 years, you still enter a certain comfort zone. I wanted change, to be able to give direction to things myself rather than undergoing what customers impose. I obviously had the option of changing agencies… but I felt I needed a more drastic change. Without making a clean sweep of all my acquired experience.
Let's say that I did not see myself becoming a plumber or a cabinetmaker, but rather putting my experience to good use in another context. In agencies, I had clients who had already seen and experienced almost everything in marketing: with teams of sometimes several dozen people, they had already orchestrated all kinds of campaigns. At easyvest, there is still a lot to build, and that's what is exciting.
I want to make easyvest known to as many Belgians, even Europeans, as possible. To do this, it is first necessary to strengthen the notoriety of easyvest, what is called “brand awareness”. So far it has been acquired mainly through the team's networks – and it has been quite successful – but we must move up a gear, in particular by moving to paid channels and by professionalizing the mechanism of word of mouth. All this while staying within the budgets of a start-up, so we will have to be creative and efficient!
I do not have a financial background, so I am a rather cautious investor. I test things on a small scale and once I'm confident, I move on. Passive investing suits me quite well because I have no intention of following the markets daily to make winning moves. I like this very pragmatic and rational approach.
Sports and music. I sing in an amateur rock band every Sunday, and I listen to a variety of music: rock, techno, reggae...
